Bromo tourist access is closed due to forest fires

Malang, East Java (National Archipelagic Wire) - Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) has completely closed all tourist access to Mount Bromo to make fire fighting efforts more effective in the area, as of Saturday at 22.00 WIB.

Head of the TNBTS Center, Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha, through an official statement received in Malang City, East Java, said that the decision to close refers to the latest developments in conditions in the field, where the flames in the Bromo Caldera area are increasingly spreading.

"In order to ensure the effectiveness of fire fighting efforts, visits to Bromo from all entrances are closed for tourist visits," said Rudi.

Mount Bromo tourist access includes five entrances spread across four areas, namely Cemorolawang in Probolinggo Regency, Wonokitri in Pasuruan Regency, Jemplang and Coban Trisula in Malang Regency, and Senduro in Lumajang Regency.

Not only regarding the effectiveness of extinguishing, the implementation of the closure takes into account the safety and security factors of all visitors.

"(The closure) is up to an undetermined time limit," he said.

The TNBTS Center ensures that every tourist who has purchased an entry ticket to the Mount Bromo area via the online booking application and chooses the exact day of visit when the closure is implemented, will be given the opportunity to reschedule.

Apart from that, travelers are also given the option of a refund or refund by the TNBTS Center.
