Having been closed for 12 days, Wae Rebo tourism will reopen starting August 1

The Wae Rebo tourist destination in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is reopening for tourist visits starting tomorrow, Saturday (1/8/2026). This destination, which is usually called heaven above the clouds, was previously closed since July 20 2026 or almost two weeks due to heavy rain in the area.

"Tomorrow, August 1, it will reopen," said Chairman of the Wae Rebo Cultural Conservation Institute, Mikael Tonso, Friday (31/7/2026) evening.

Mikael said the weather in Wae Rebo was good. There is no more rain in the area.

Wae Rebo is at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level (masl). There are seven traditional houses that have become icons of this tourist village, namely the cone-shaped Mbaru Niang.

Wae Rebo also offers beautiful natural landscapes and unique culture. Tourists also feel the hospitality of local residents when they arrive there.
