The Golo Mori is starting to be seen as a place to hold weddings or destination weddings. A number of couples have chosen The Golo Mori as the venue for their wedding events. In fact, The Golo Mori has been known as a center for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE).
The Golo Mori is managed by PT Indonesian Tourism Development or InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). The location is in Golo Mori Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The Golo Mori is about half an hour's journey by land from Labuan Bajo.
"ITDC continues to expand the premium event market at The Golo Mori through developing the destination wedding segment," said General Manager (GM) of The Golo Mori, Wahyuaji Munarwiyanto, in a press release, Sunday (12/7/2026).
Two bridal couples have already held a series of weddings at The Golo Mori. The second couple is a bride and groom from Surabaya, East Java (Jatim), who held a series of wedding events at The Golo Mori on June 27 2026.
"This trust is a positive signal that the appeal of The Golo Mori is now increasingly reaching the national market as well as strengthening regional business diversification strategies outside of MICE," said the man who is called Aji.
The entire series of wedding events for the couple from Surabaya took place in an integrated manner in one area, starting from the blessing procession at the Nuka Beach Club with a panoramic view of the Flores Sea, followed by the Tea Pai procession at the Mori Lounge to the evening reception at the Golo Convention Hall which was attended by around 300 guests.
"The confidence of couples from Surabaya to hold their wedding at The Golo Mori is a signal that this area is starting to be looked at as a premium wedding destination at the national level," explained Aji.
"In the midst of the growing destination wedding trend, this momentum also strengthens ITDC's efforts to expand the use of the area through various value-added special events," added Aji.
According to Aji, the development of destination weddings shows the wider market potential that The Golo Mori can reach, as well as complementing the region's position as a premium MICE destination in Eastern Indonesia.
"The trust that has been given to The Golo Mori again shows that this area is increasingly being recognized as a premium destination for various events. We see the need for organizers now to not only focus on the venue, but also on a comprehensive experience in one destination," explained Aji.
