Bangli, Bali (National Archipelagic Wire) - The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) of the Republic of Indonesia has revealed the five main attractions that encourage foreign tourists to choose to vacation in Indonesia.

These findings are the basis for strengthening the national tourism promotion strategy which focuses on culture, culinary delights, and organizing quality events.

Assistant Deputy for Amenity Development and Tourism Accessibility at the Ministry of Tourism, Dwi Marhen Yono, when opening the Penglipuran Village Festival, in Panglipuran, Bangli Regency, Thursday, said the results of an international survey of 15.6 million foreign tourists showed that culture was the main reason tourists came to Indonesia, ahead of natural beauty.

According to him, the cultural strength that is still maintained, especially in Bali, is the main attraction for foreign tourists. Traditions, customs and local values are considered as attractions that must be enjoyed when visiting Indonesia.

The second reason is the culinary richness of the archipelago.

Dwi said that typical Indonesian foods such as satay, meatballs and fried rice are widely known to foreign tourists.

Therefore, regional culinary delights, including typical Balinese culinary delights, must continue to maintain their quality, as well as promote them.

The third factor is the organization of various tourism events.

According to him, cultural festivals and international sporting events have proven to be able to attract tourists to a destination, such as the MotoGP in Lombok and the Panglipuran Village Festival in Bangli.

Apart from that, promotion of attractive destinations and tour packages is also an important factor.
