Three Balinese painters exhibit a variety of visual media at the Sanur Art Hub

Denpasar (National Archipelagic Wire) - Three painters from Sukawati, Gianyar, namely I Made Mahendra Mangku, I Made Galung Wiratmaja, and I Wayan Arnata are presenting a joint art exhibition that explores the diversity of visual media in an inclusive, independent art space in the Sanur area, Denpasar.

"My watercolor work has quite an interesting challenge in terms of paper media which has a very different character, the technique is fast because it cannot be overwritten or repeated. When I was a child, I was the son of a farmer and a mother who was a leaf seeker, the memory of nature is what drives me to work to face this challenge," said I Made Mahendra Mangku in Denpasar, Sunday.

The three artists brought their own unique mediums, such as Mahendra Mangku showing six watercolor works on paper that talked about nature and the environment.

Apart from painting on complex media, the challenge for the artist who received various awards was also the location of the gallery which was a new place.

If usually exhibitions are held in special galleries or hotels in Sanur, leaving an exclusive impression, now Kalpataru Art Space at the Sanur Art Hub provides an open space that is free to visit or can be used as an exhibition gallery.

The inclusive gallery, which is expected to be packed with the community, encourages artists to create work that can balance the space.

Artist I Made Galung Wiratmaja added that he himself explored the medium of acrylic on canvas with a figurative abstraction approach.

He deliberately displayed 13 works in the form of silhouettes of figures that were incomplete or deliberately damaged in order to provoke the imagination and various interpretations of art lovers.

"I freed myself to explore a suitable style, the figures that were present were not complete or in the form of silhouettes. I deliberately presented them so that there would be indulgence in the imagination and interaction of perception from art lovers, when there are various interpretations, the work continues to live," said Galung Wiratmaja.

In a more experimental medium, I Wayan Arnata processes thread on seven canvases.
