West Nusa Tenggara is actively presenting a new pipeline of tourism projects to international investors, with several hotel and resort developments valued at approximately Rp1.61 trillion.

The projects form part of NTB's Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) program, which is intended to present projects with clearer development concepts and investment requirements.

The pipeline includes projects such as the Kerakas Beach Five-Star Hotel, the Gili Gede Luxury Resort and Five-Star Hotel, the Mautika Mandalika Hotel and the Kuta Heights Hotel. The portfolio shows how NTB is attempting to expand tourism infrastructure across several destinations rather than concentrating development in a single location.

The investment geography is significant. Kerakas Beach and Gili Gede broaden the accommodation proposition beyond the established Mandalika area, while projects around Kuta and Mandalika can support the southern Lombok tourism cluster.

The provincial government has also been conducting international investment diplomacy. NTB has discussed opportunities in tourism, renewable energy and marine sectors with foreign diplomatic and business partners.

The investment pipeline comes at a time when Indonesia's national tourism strategy is encouraging capital to move beyond Jakarta and Bali. The Tourism Ministry reported that 76.5 percent of tourism investment in 2025 was concentrated in those two regions.

For NTB, attracting new investment is therefore part of a larger national economic-balancing agenda.

However, a pipeline is not the same as realized investment. Projects still require financing, land readiness, licensing, construction and market validation. The quality of the investment process will determine which proposals eventually become operating tourism assets.

The emphasis on five-star hotels and luxury resorts also reflects the strategy of capturing higher-value visitors. Higher-end accommodation can increase average visitor spending and create demand for restaurants, wellness, marine activities, transport and other services.

At the same time, luxury development needs to integrate with local economies. Construction and operations can generate jobs and procurement opportunities if local businesses are prepared to participate.

NTB's challenge is therefore to combine investment attraction with destination readiness. New hotels need access roads, utilities, airports and ports, waste-management systems, digital connectivity and a sufficiently diverse set of visitor experiences.

The province already has a substantial tourism portfolio: Mandalika, the Gili islands, Sembalun, cultural destinations and coastal areas across Lombok and Sumbawa.

The new IPRO pipeline can strengthen that network if projects are developed in ways that complement rather than duplicate existing supply.

For investors, the value proposition is the ability to participate in a destination that is still expanding. For the province, the objective is to turn project proposals into productive assets that contribute to employment, regional income and a more geographically distributed tourism economy.

The Rp1.61 trillion pipeline is therefore best viewed as a development pipeline rather than guaranteed economic output. Its importance lies in showing the scale and geographic breadth of the tourism projects NTB is currently taking to market.
