Badung (National Archipelagic Wire) - The Badung Regency Government has prepared a number of large-scale strategic steps to maintain the sustainability of the tourism sector in the Canggu, North Kuta, Badung area.

"As one of the main tourist destinations that is developing very rapidly, Canggu is facing big challenges related to traffic jams and spatial planning violations," said Badung Regent Wayan Adi Arnawa in Canggu, Wednesday.

He said that to reduce congestion, the Badung Regency Government plans to implement a one-way traffic system from east to west in the Canggu area.

To improve road infrastructure, the Badung Regency Government has also prepared a budget of up to hundreds of billions.

"We have also discussed with international consultants to finalize a long-term plan for the construction of an underground route that connects crucial points to main routes such as Jalan Gatot Subroto, Denpasar," he said.

Regent Adi Arnawa explained that it is not just a problem of traffic jams, Canggu is a developing tourist destination so it is prone to spatial planning violations, such as buildings that violate road or river borders.

"We are firm about violations of spatial planning, if left unchecked, tourists will no longer feel comfortable, and this will reduce visits which will have a direct impact on regional income," he explained.

He added that apart from focusing on arranging infrastructure for the comfort of tourists, his party is also improving the quality of human resources through the education sector as a top priority.

"We are not only building physical infrastructure, but also building the ecosystem. The welfare of the community and the future of children's education in Badung must go hand in hand with the progress of tourism," concluded Regent Adi Arnawa.
