Day-by-Day Itinerary & Daily Flow
Foothill Rest, Gear Briefing & Midnight Ascent
Arrive in the tranquil highlands of Selat or Sidemen. Check into a restful mountain eco-lodge, rest your body, and conduct a thorough gear check with your lead mountain guide.
Visit Pura Pasar Agung foothill shrine to receive a traditional blessing for safe passage from a local priest. Dine early on complex carbohydrates and sleep from 18:00.
Depart your lodge for the Pasar Agung or Besakih trailhead. Begin your torchlit ascent into the dense pine forest under a brilliant canopy of constellations.
Mount Agung Midnight Summit Expedition with Certified Priest Guides
Summit Sunrise at 3,142m & Hot Springs Recovery
Reach the crater rim as the first rays of sunlight pierce the horizon. Watch the colossal triangular shadow of Mount Agung cast across the clouds stretching towards Mount Rinjani on Lombok.
Carefully descend through the rocky scree and sub-alpine forest back to the trailhead by 10:30. Return to your lodge for a hearty warm breakfast and warm herbal foot soaks.
