The Buleleng Royal Lulur is prepared by hand in the spa's botanical kitchen: rice flour from a north Bali cooperative ground with fresh turmeric root, powdered sandalwood, and dried frangipani blossom into a paste that carries the warm, toasted fragrance of all four ingredients simultaneously. Applied generously across the body and worked in slow circles for 30 minutes, it removes the accumulated dead cells of a week's worth of sun, salt, and coral reef scrapes, revealing the skin beneath as smooth, golden, and faintly luminous. A warm floral milk bath — fresh coconut milk steeped with hibiscus, jasmine, and marigold petals — completes the treatment as the last of the day's light disappears beyond Java's shadowed ridge on the horizon.
