Denpasar (National Archipelagic Wire) - The management of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, announced that all regular flights on the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) route were running normally after the earthquake disaster in Flores.
"We can say that flight operations and airport services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali are running normally and optimally," said Communication and Legal Division Head of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi in Denpasar, Saturday. He explained that normal conditions lasted from the start of the earthquake until at least 12.00 WITA this afternoon.
Regularly, the NTT routes served at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport are the Labuan Bajo and Tambolaka routes with airlines that serve both direct and transit, namely Indonesia AirAsia, Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Batik Air, Lion Air, Super Air Jet and Wings Air.
The Labuan Bajo route departs nine times every day and arrives eight times, while Tambolaka arrives twice and departs three times.
Thankfully, the earthquake that hit the area did not disrupt airport traffic so air access was still normal.
"Until now, flight services to and from airports in the East Nusa Tenggara region are operating normally, and there have been no flight cancellations," said Eka Sandi.
The management of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, also expressed empathy and concern for the natural disasters experienced by residents in the Nagekeo area and its surroundings.
Editorial Perspective & Traveler Logistics
For international travelers navigating Labuan Bajo and wider regional circuits across Indonesia, staying abreast of operational changes, localized protocols, and seasonal infrastructure developments remains vital. Whether planning overland transit corridors, reserving boutique accommodations, or arranging verified island expeditions, guests are advised to confirm logistics through official regional portals and licensed operators. Maintaining situational awareness ensures that journeys across Bali and neighboring archipelagic destinations remain culturally respectful, safe, and seamlessly executed.
