Central Lombok (National Archipelagic Wire) - InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has prepared a prototype camping ground and vampervan experience as alternative accommodation for Indonesian MotoGP spectators which will be held at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, 9-13 October 2026.
"This innovation is the answer for tourists who want to come to watch the MotoGP event in Mandalika in a different way," said ITDC Operations Director Troy Warokka, Central Lombok, Friday.
He said camping grounds have become part of the lifestyle, because many tourists from high economic backgrounds choose camping holidays because they are considered healthier and more affordable.
"We want to develop Mandalika in a different way. This is the answer to tourists who want to come to watch the Indonesian MotoGP," he said.
Troy, who is also Chairman of the Mandalika MotoGP 2026, said that the camping ground concept was prepared as an answer to the accommodation needs of spectators, especially two-wheeled vehicle users who come from various parts of Indonesia.
According to him, audiences from Aceh, Medan to Java who travel overland by motorbike need accommodation options that are not too expensive, but still easily accessible.
"We tried it with MotoGP, namely accommodation using camping ground or camping," he said.
Meanwhile, ticket sales have reached around 50 percent, including large purchases from a number of companies.
Support for the Mandalika MotoGP is also increasingly widespread with the involvement of a number of sponsors, travel agents and airlines.
Editorial Perspective & Traveler Logistics
For international travelers navigating Nusa Dua and wider regional circuits across Indonesia, staying abreast of operational changes, localized protocols, and seasonal infrastructure developments remains vital. Whether planning overland transit corridors, reserving boutique accommodations, or arranging verified island expeditions, guests are advised to confirm logistics through official regional portals and licensed operators. Maintaining situational awareness ensures that journeys across Bali and neighboring archipelagic destinations remain culturally respectful, safe, and seamlessly executed.
