Tourist visits to Karangasem Regency, Bali, reached 688,945 people from January to August 2026. This number is still dominated by foreign tourists.

Head of the Karangasem Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar) I Putu Eddy Surya Artha said that of the total visits, 552,089 were foreign tourists. Meanwhile, domestic tourists were recorded at 138,856 people.

"Tourist visits to Karangasem are still dominated by foreign tourists," said Head of the Karangasem Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar) I Putu Eddy Surya Artha, Saturday (5/9/2026).

The tourist attraction most visited by tourists to date is Tirta Gangga Park. Total visits to this tourist attraction reached 258,069 people. Meanwhile, several other tourist attractions such as Lempuyang Temple and Besakih Temple are also quite busy but not as much as Tirta Gangga.

However, his party also does not deny that in the last two months, which is the high season where many tourists should come, it is relatively the same as the previous months. So this year's high season will not really increase tourist visits.

"Based on data that I remember in the first semester of last year, tourist visits were around 610,000 and this year only 520,000. That means there is a decrease in tourist visits this year," said Surya Artha.

He admitted that he did not know for sure the cause of the decline. However, in general, the party received information that tourist visits to Bali are currently experiencing a decline.

"For Karangasem, the arrangement of Candidasa Beach is likely to be one of the current factors. However, if the arrangement is complete, I am sure tourist visits will increase," said Surya Artha.

However, with the remaining time until the end of this year, he is confident that he can at least match the number of tourist visits last year which reached 1.2 million visits. The Karangasem Regency Government will continue to boost tourism promotion to attract more tourists. '

"Hopefully by the end of this year, tourist visits to Karangasem will continue to increase," hoped Surya Artha.
