Denpasar (National Archipelagic Wire) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster asked all elements of Buleleng Regency society to consistently maintain and preserve the arts, culture, traditions and local wisdom of the region.

"Culture will never die, because culture is the soul of our life, the breath of the Balinese people, so guard it consistently and seriously throughout time," said Wayan Koster when opening the 2026 Buleleng Festival (Bulfest).

In a statement from the Bali Provincial Government in Denpasar, Wednesday, he conveyed the importance of the role of the community, especially the younger generation, to continue to hone creativity and ensure that the regeneration process of traditional Balinese artists runs sustainably from time to time.

Koster is grateful that local regional leaders have organized Bulfest 2026 as a strategic space to advance, strengthen and promote Buleleng's unique artistic and cultural works.

"I appreciate the regent's program for holding Bulfest 2026 to advance and strengthen Balinese arts and culture, especially works of art from Buleleng Regency," he said.

Through this festival, the public can see not only a stage for expression for artists, but also a potential space to introduce culinary, craft products and local MSMEs which have proven to be effective in driving the wheels of the people's economy.

As a form of support for development in the northern region of the Island of the Gods, Governor Koster then promised a number of strategic infrastructure development agendas that would be boosted by the Bali Provincial Government.

The agenda includes the continuation of the construction of shortcuts at points 9-10 which will continue to point 12, the development of Celukan Bawang Port, as well as the arrangement of other supporting ports.

"If everything is finished in 2029, it will take one and a half hours from Denpasar to Buleleng," said Koster optimistically.

Apart from transportation connectivity, he touched on the development of the economic area in Gerokgak District as well as work on the second phase of the Turyapada Tower tower which is designed to strengthen Buleleng's competitiveness.
