Intergenerational Meeting Point in Singaraja City Center

One by one the sidewalk lights started to come on. The originally blue sky slowly turned orange. Singaraja City Center looked different that afternoon. Areas that previously only had vehicles passing through have now become new public spaces that are busy with residents.

In the Praja Mandala Singa Ambara Raja area, residents were passing by enjoying the afternoon atmosphere. Not only young people, the area is also a gathering place for residents from various generations.

Some just sit, capture the moment, and enjoy the music. In one corner of the sidewalk, a group of young people were seen posing against the backdrop of a colonial-style building. In front of them, a man in black was busy directing the camera.

"Well, that's a nice setting," said Weda Ariawan, a young photographer from Singaraja, while pointing his camera.

Several shots were heard. After confirming the results of the photo, the man in his 20s approached them. He then showed the photos from his camera.

"Good, Sis," answered one of them, giving a thumbs up.

For Weda, Praja Mandala is now a space for creativity and experimentation. He considered the area's architecture which carries a heritage feel to be a suitable backdrop for various photography concepts.

"I'm more precise about experimenting. This place has neutral colors, so finding photo tones is easier," he said.

Praja Mandala was previously known as Zero Point Singaraja. The area was then organized by the Buleleng Regency Government (Pemkab) with a heritage concept to revive Singaraja's historical traces as a heritage city.
