Regent Aims for 25 Thousand Visitors at Lovina Festival 2026, High Tourist Interest

The Buleleng Regency Government (Pemkab) is targeting as many as 25 thousand visitors to attend the 2026 Lovina Festival which will be held on 24-28 July 2026. This optimism is driven by increasing tourist interest, including foreign tourists who are starting to extend their stay to enjoy the series of festivals.

Buleleng Regent I Nyoman Sutjidra said all preparations for holding the Lovina Festival had been completed. The two main stages in the Tasik Madu and Binaria Beach areas are also confirmed to be ready to be used for the opening and closing of the festival.

"We are targeting an average of around 5 thousand visitors every day during the five days of implementation, bringing the total to around 25 thousand people. Last year the number of visitors reached around 30 thousand people, so we hope this year will be better," said Sutjidra during a press conference in the Lovina Beach area, Thursday (23/7/2026).

According to Sutjidra, tourist enthusiasm had begun to be felt even before the festival officially opened. While visiting the Lovina area, he received information from tourism businesses that a number of foreign tourists chose to extend their stay so they could enjoy the entire festival agenda.

"Several guests staying at hotels around Lovina decided to extend their stay because they wanted to enjoy the Lovina Festival. This shows that the festival can be an attraction for tourists," he said.

Sutjidra hopes that the increase in tourist visits during the festival will have a multiplier effect on the community's economy. It is believed that the presence of tourists will encourage MSMEs, increase hotel occupancy, and encourage visits to various tourist destinations around Lovina.

"The more tourists who come, the greater the economic turnover. MSMEs are moving, hotel occupancy rates are increasing, and tourist destinations in villages around Lovina are also benefiting," he said.

Chair of the 2026 Lovina Festival Committee, Putu Ayu Reika Nurhaeni, explained that the duration of this year's festival was extended to five days as a strategy to increase the length of stay for tourists in Buleleng.

According to Reika, the festival concept does not only focus on entertainment, but is also designed so that tourists have more time to enjoy cultural attractions, interact with local communities, and visit various tourist destinations in the Lovina area and its surroundings.

"So there are several event programs, of course the first is traditional art, then modern art, and side events," said Reika.
