The New Face of Singaraja Zero Point, Similar to the North Bali Version of Yogyakarta

The afternoon is the busiest time in the Singaraja Zero Point Heritage Area, Buleleng Regency, Bali. As the sun slowly set, residents began to arrive to sit back and relax, exercise, and hunt for photos against the backdrop of historical buildings and orange skies that were a feast for the eyes.

The new face of the center of Singaraja City has now become one of the favorite public spaces of Buleleng residents. The layout of the area that combines a heritage feel with open space means that Zero Point is always busy with visitors, especially at dusk.

In the corners of the area, young people seemed busy capturing the moment. Others choose to sit with friends or family enjoying an afternoon atmosphere that is different from before. Not a few also come specifically to watch the sunset.

Eli, a student at the Undiksha History Education Study Program, admitted that he deliberately came to Zero Point after exercising to enjoy the view of the sunset.

"The changes in development in Singaraja City are extraordinary. This has created more social interaction among the people here. Those of us who are far from Medan really appreciate this," said Eli, Thursday (18/6/2026).

According to him, the arrangement of this area has brought major changes compared to previous conditions.

"Compared to the previous one, of course the difference is striking because the construction is new. The impression is more spacious and beautiful. The place is comfortable, the photos are also good," he said.

Recently, Singaraja Zero Point also went viral on social media because it was considered to have an atmosphere similar to Yogyakarta. Eli, who once visited Gudeg City, admitted that he felt a similar impression.

"It's quite similar. But the difference is in the lion ornament which is the identity of Singaraja City. If you see a lion, people immediately know this is Singaraja," he said.

He hopes that the regional planning will continue to be developed so that it can attract more tourists to North Bali.
