The Bali Museum management has a number of ways to attract the younger generation. One of them is holding a Mobile Museum program to bring students closer to the history of the Island of the Gods.

Head of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of the Bali Museum, Ida Ayu Made Sutariani, said that the Mobile Museum is moving to a number of junior high schools in Bali. "This year there are 15 junior high schools that we are targeting," he told regional observers, Tuesday (4/8/2026).

One of the Mobile Museum activities was held at SMP Negeri 3 Tampaksiring, Gianyar, last Friday (24/7/2026). The management of the Bali Museum came to the school to tell stories about the history and collections of the museum.

Three days earlier, the Mobile Museum was held at SMP Negeri 4 Petang, Badung. School students can ask questions about historical objects stored by the Bali Museum.

Dayu, Sutariani's nickname, explained that the Bali Museum would also hold the 2026 Museum Quiz Competition. The competition was held for junior high school/MTs students throughout Bali. Meanwhile, the prize for first place is IDR 10 million, a trophy and a certificate.

The approach, Dayu continued, is also carried out with elementary school students through the Museum Fairy Tales program. The program targets 17 elementary schools in a number of areas such as Badung, Bangli and Klungkung. "We invite the fairy tale community to introduce the museum," he said.

According to Dayu, it is not easy to attract the younger generation to learn history and visit the Bali Museum. The reason is that the people of the Island of the Gods are used to living with Balinese culture.

For example, Balinese people are used to seeing statues. In fact, the statue stored in the Bali Museum has historical value. "So we, the museum, have to adapt to the world of young people," he said.

The Bali Museum also uses social media such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, to introduce Balinese culture. The Museumbali friend's Instagram account often uploads activities and information related to the museum on social media.

The number of visitors to the Bali Museum in 2024 will reach 37,694 people. Of this number, the number of students from Bali reached 14,774 people. However, in 2025 the number of visits will fall to only 29,461 people. Of that number, 10,225 students are from the Island of the Gods.
