Coordinating Minister AHY wants to attract high-class tourists to Bali through marina development

Denpasar (National Archipelagic Wire) - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development (IPK) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) wants to attract high-class tourists to visit Bali by developing a marina at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) Benoa Harbor.

"This (marina) is expected to be able to bring in more and more tourists from various countries. We know that the number of domestic tourists is also continuing to increase, but foreign tourists, especially those who are willing to spend money or travel with high expenses, also want to come to Bali, enjoy Bali's nature, culture, and at the same time want to shop," he said.

The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development in Denpasar, Tuesday, saw that the construction of this marina was in line with the high demand for cruise tourism or cruise ships and yachts or luxury sailing ships, which was increasing by 7.5 percent every year.

If some of these high-class tourists are attracted to Bali, the economic impact will be multiplied, not only for the marina area but also the economy of the Balinese people.

Affected Corridors & Port/Flight Status

"They travel and then stay here not only for weeks or months, but even years, meaning they will also continue to consume or consume in Bali," said Coordinating Minister AHY.

Therefore, to support efforts to attract tourist visits through marine cruise tourism, the Coordinating Ministry for IPK supports the development of a marina at Benoa Harbor which is planned to be completed in 2028.

If according to plans, the marina will be able to accommodate 188 luxury sailing vessels, of various scales, including super and mega yachts in size and classification.

"Similarly, there will be developments for mooring large cruise ships, up to five ships," said AHY.

Not just international standard mooring locations, marina development will also include the readiness of water, electricity and sturdy dock facilities using the latest technology.

In the surrounding area, namely the Benoa Harbor area, entertainment facilities, shopping centers, green open space parks and safe and comfortable areas for anyone who visits are also being developed.
