The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) has begun mapping maritime boat tourism spread throughout Indonesia. This is an effort to develop marine tourism which is considered to have great potential in attracting foreign tourists.

"We are currently comprehensively mapping the tourist boat, cruise, yacht and liveaboard industry as part of the development of marine tourism in Indonesia," said Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana while attending the 2026 INSA Yacht Festival at Benoa Harbor, Denpasar, Saturday (8/8/2026).

In the process, Widiyanti emphasized the need for coordination across ministry and industry sectors. "We encourage all sustainable marine tourism ecosystems to grow and develop sustainably," he explained.

Widiyanti said that tourists are starting to attract the trend of marine tourism because they get beautiful experiences, especially when snorkeling and diving. Of course, Indonesia has this advantage.

Widiyanti said, in the future, studies will be carried out to encourage regulations that can develop the tourism industry in the maritime sector.

"And we are very happy that this also brings together all the leading tourism programs such as gastronomy, wellness, we have already packaged this event for maritime tourism, maritime tourism gastronomy and also fashion. So, this is good for us to continue to promote," he said.

Editorial Perspective & Traveler Logistics

For international travelers navigating Seminyak and wider regional circuits across Indonesia, staying abreast of operational changes, localized protocols, and seasonal infrastructure developments remains vital. Whether planning overland transit corridors, reserving boutique accommodations, or arranging verified island expeditions, guests are advised to confirm logistics through official regional portals and licensed operators. Maintaining situational awareness ensures that journeys across Bali and neighboring archipelagic destinations remain culturally respectful, safe, and seamlessly executed.
