The pool covering an area of around 100 square meters is adjacent to the Telaga Waja River. Various trees such as coconut, banana and jackfruit stand around the pool with clear water. The clear pool water makes the bottom of the swimming area visible.

The Telaga Waja River flows next to the pond. The river water which originates from the foot of Mount Agung flows through the gaps between the rocks. The river is also a place to get your adrenaline pumping through rafting.

Telagawaja Glamping & Camping Operations Manager, Wayan Suci, said that the pool water comes from the Telaga Waja River. The flowing river water is directed to the pool and then back to the river. "The concept we are promoting is nature," he told regional observers, Saturday (22/8/2026).

I had the opportunity to go on an excursion to Karangasem, Bali. The district known as Gumi Lahar has a number of natural baths with clear water. One of them is the Tella'gawajja Baths.

It takes around 90 minutes by motorbike from Denpasar to Tella'gawajja Baths located in Rendang Village, Rendang District, Karangasem. The road to reach the natural pool is winding and there are lots of trucks loaded with sand going back and forth.

I immediately plunged into the Tella'gawajja Bathing pool. Byur! The fresh pool water is effective in banishing the fatigue of driving from Denpasar.

From the pool, I could see trucks loaded with sand going over the bridge. Occasionally the trucks line up because the truck in front of them has difficulty conquering the incline on the slopes of Mount Agung.

According to Suci, the pool was made as natural as possible by not using ceramics. "We also don't mix chlorine into the pool," said the 39 year old woman.

No wonder, my eyes didn't feel sore even though I soaked and swam in the pool for about 60 minutes. However, when walking in the 1.5 meter deep pool it felt slippery due to the moss at the bottom.

Suci said that Glamping & Camping Telagawaja was built because she saw the tourism potential around the Telaga Waja River. Moreover, the river is well known to the public and is a source of water for daily needs.
