Badung (National Archipelagic Wire) - The Badung Regency Government (Pemkab), Bali, together with the Wakatobi Regency Government, Central Sulawesi, are strengthening cross-regional collaboration to increase tourist visits and improve destination governance.

"We received a working visit from Wakatobi Regent H. Haliana to exchange experiences in tourism management, destination development and solving industrial challenges," said Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa in his statement in Mangupura, Thursday.

He said the two regional governments were committed to building concrete synergies, especially in adopting best practices, especially those that have been widely implemented successfully in Badung and Bali.

On that occasion, Regent Adi Arnawa said that the main challenge currently facing Bali is no longer just a way to attract tourists in large numbers.

However, currently the government is focused on ensuring that every tourist who visits gets a safe, comfortable and high-quality experience in all sectors supporting the tourism ecosystem.

"Now our challenge in Bali is how to keep visiting tourists comfortable from various sectors supporting the tourism ecosystem itself," he said.

He explained that the Badung Regency Government has consistently started to direct the direction from mass tourism towards quality tourism.

This strategy does not mean closing the doors to tourists, but rather strict regulations that align the number of visits with the environmental capacity and comfort of local communities.

"We are moving towards quality tourism now. We hope that this empirical experience from Badung can be a valuable reference for other regions, including Wakatobi," he said.

Wakatobi Regent H. Haliana added that his party felt it was important to learn directly from Badung tourism management.
