Hansel Liyanto Leads PHRI NTT for the 2026-2031 Period

Hansel Adrial Liyanto was elected as Chairman of the Regional Leadership Body (BPD) of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for the 2026-2031 period in the IV PHRI NTT Regional Conference (Musda) which took place in Kupang, Thursday (13/8/2026) evening. Hansel replaces the Chair of PHRI NTT for the 2021-2026 period, Juvenile Jodjana.

"I am very grateful to the Governor who is willing to write to mayors and regents throughout NTT, so that later BPCs (branch management bodies) will be formed throughout the East Nusa Tenggara region," said Hansel, after being elected as Chair of PHRI NTT.

Hansel said that currently only 8 PHRI BPCs are active out of a total of 22 districts/cities in NTT. Currently, there are 100 PHRI NTT members. The regions that already have BPC PHRI are Sikka, Lembata, Alor, Nagekeo, Ngada, East Sumba, Belu and West Manggarai. "If we look, there are areas that are still not reached by PHRI, so there are still many hotels and restaurants that have not joined PHRI, even though PHRI has a good ecosystem," he said. Hansel hopes that the district and city governments can facilitate the formation of their respective BPCs. One of the requirements for forming a BPC is to have a minimum of 10 members. "The challenge that we have been facing, to form the existing BPC, is that there are no leaders who are able to collect the BPC. One of the requirements for forming the BPC is that we must first have 10 members before we can inaugurate and form a BPC. Meanwhile, there are several areas that do not yet belong to the BPC," explained Hansel. Previously, NTT Governor Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena emphasized the importance of the hotel-restaurant business chain to drive the local economy, especially through the promotion of MSMEs and tourism in NTT. "In the future, PHRI will be the part that takes the results from the community, which are produced for use such as sugar, mineral water and so on," he said. Laka Lena also gave the example of the Ayana Hotel in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, which uses local products such as Ruteng. "I respect the Ayana Hotel, a big hotel in Labuan Bajo, a big and expensive hotel, but the drinks are Ruteng. It's like a model with a good synergy between PHRI and local products and local governments that work in these places," said Laka Lena.
