Badung provides fair space for artistic activities

Badung (National Archipelagic Wire) - The Badung Regency Government is fully committed to ensuring equal space for all levels of society in carrying out arts and cultural activities.

"As a concrete, sustainable step, we, through Listibiya Badung, will continue to intensify coaching, mentoring and expanding performance space for artists with disabilities," said Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa in his statement in Mangupura, Friday.

He said physical limitations were not a barrier to producing high-quality works of art. For this reason, he appreciates the creations of disabled artists in his area.

One of those who received appreciation were the artists from the Indonesian Blind Association (Pertuni) Badung who performed Arja Negak art at the 2026 Bali Arts Festival (PKB).

According to Regent Adi Arnawa, artists with all their limitations were still able to present Arja Negak's performance with a quality that was very encouraging.

"In the future, we hope that the potential of art for people with disabilities will also expand to other branches of Balinese art. This step is expected to strengthen the value of inclusivity while enriching the diversity of art and culture preservation on the Island of the Gods," he said.

He added that his party also appreciated the Bali Arts Festival which had transformed into an inclusive public space.

"We see that the Bali Arts Festival is truly a forum for all groups, without distinguishing between people with disabilities and non-disabled people. This is a very good step and we must continue to encourage it," said Regent Adi Arnawa.
