Immersive exhibitions are an attraction at Jia CURATED 2026 in Sanur

Denpasar (National Archipelagic Wire) - An immersive exhibition entitled The Intelligence of Surfaces will be present and will be one of the attractions at the Jia CURATED 2026 event which will take place on 13-17 August 2026 at Pengembak Beach, Sanur, Bali.

Lamitak Co-Founder Alexander Tan in Denpasar, Thursday, stated that the exhibition organized by Lamitak, a surface materials company from Singapore, invites visitors to explore new ways of understanding the role of surface materials in the world of interior design.

Alexander said the exhibition invites the public to see materials from a broader perspective, not just as products, but as an important part in shaping the quality of space.

"In the future, material development will not be about imitating nature, but how we learn from it. At Lamitak, we translate inspiration from nature into surface materials designed for today's needs," said Alexander.

Carrying the theme Nature Weave, which is the common thread of Jia CURATED 2026, the exhibition explores the relationship between natural material inspiration, material development processes, spatial experiences, and changes in today's design needs.

Collaborating with Bali-based architecture studio, DDAP Architect, the exhibition is designed as a spatial journey that shows how materials are studied, developed and applied to various interior needs.

Different from material exhibitions in general, The Intelligence of Surfaces does not only display laminate products, but invites visitors to understand the origin of inspiration, composition, formation process, performance, and application through the concept of Reframing Material Truth.

Visitors can enjoy an interactive material exploration area to get to know the process of cutting, installing and finishing laminate, as well as directly testing the character of the material through a tactile experience.

In addition, an interactive surface visualiser is available which allows visitors to see various collections of Lamitak surface materials applied in various interior visuals. These facilities help visitors understand how materials work in different contexts of space, lighting, atmosphere and scale.

Meanwhile, DDAP Architect, a Bali-based architecture studio, said the installation presented was an invitation to understand that a material is formed by its origins, processes, applications and experiences, not just its final appearance.
