The Regent of Jembrana asked the kite competition organizers for a thorough evaluation

Jembrana, Bali (National Archipelagic Wire) - The Regent of Jembrana, Bali, I Made Kembang Hartawan, expressed criticism, even admitting that he was disappointed with the holding of a kite competition which was funded by the local district government. He asked the committee to carry out a total evaluation of the implementation of this event.

"I came to see the competition in person at the beach in Pengambengan Village. In my opinion, the organization of the activities that we helped budget for was haphazard," he said in Negara, Jembrana Regency, Bali, Monday.

He said the professionalism of the Kite Pelangi Jembrana organizing committee in Sunday's (30/8) competition was questionable in terms of technical management, coordination and transparency of assessment.

Because it is held by an organization, according to him, the kite competition should have a high standard and be professional.

With the situation during the competition, he considered it detrimental to tourism potential and local MSMEs which should have a positive impact from this activity.

"Because it is quiet, MSMEs, such as small traders, do not benefit from this activity. In fact, we provide financial assistance in the hope that it can have an impact on the MSME economy, apart from being a tourist attraction," he said.

He compared other smaller activities with funding from the Jembrana Regency Government, but which could have a maximum positive impact.

Because of this, he asked for comprehensive improvements to be made to the kite competition organizing committee so that similar activities in the future meet the expectations of all parties.

"Being professional, serious and transparent must also be carried out by all organizations in Jembrana when holding events. Because this also concerns the good name of the region," he said.

The Regent of Kembang's disappointment was in line with complaints from participants who felt that the organizing committee was less than professional, especially in determining the champion.
