The Governor of Bali closes the 2026 PKB

Denpasar (National Archipelagic Wire) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster officially closed the biggest arts festival on the Island of the Gods Bali Arts Festival (PKB) XLVIII 2026 with a total of 1,822,857 visitors in a month.

"Visitors have not been counted tonight or just until this afternoon, it reached more than 1.8 million people, last year it was 1.6 million, so an increase of more than 200,000," said Koster in Denpasar, Saturday.

PKB 2026 with the theme Atma Kerthi: Jiwa Siddha Parishudha which took place from 13 June to 11 July itself brought various increases not only in the number of visits to the Art Center Cultural Park.

In terms of participants, as many as 673 institutions or art groups actively participated in presenting their works of art, where this number jumped from the 2026 PKB which had 517 studios.

Ceremonial Observance & Village Protocols

In total, the artists who filled out the 2026 PKB reached 20,929 people, an increase of 4.2 percent from the previous year.

"Then, the works of art displayed this year reached 879 works, a much higher increase compared to 2025, 592, so the works of art are extraordinary," said the Governor of Bali.

The artists who worked hard succeeded in attracting visits to the Bali Arts Festival, not only the people of Bali and the archipelago, the Bali Provincial Government's test results counted 5,743 foreign tourists attending.

When compared to 2025, this number has jumped 137.7 percent because previously there were only 2,416 foreign tourist visits, thus showing that more and more tourists are interested in Balinese art.

Not only did they come in person, broadcasts on the Bali Provincial Government's social media regarding the Bali Arts Festival were also busy, reaching 2,124,000 views.

According to Koster, the enthusiasm for the 2026 PKB not only reflects the preservation of Balinese arts and culture, but also how the people's economic turnaround has played a role.
