Shaded by ancient rain trees and framed by classic Kutai architectural flourishes, the sanctuary feels like a living royal pavilion. Interior chambers are draped in hand-woven Ulap Doyo fibers—a sacred textile crafted by local Dayak and Kutai artisans from wild river curculigo plant fibers—while brass urns gently release aromatic vapors of slow-simmered gaharu (agarwood), cinnamon bark, and wild Borneo star anise into the cool river breeze.

The centerpiece of this sovereign ritual is the signature Lulur Gaharu Kutai, a treatment once reserved exclusively for royal consorts before the annual Erau cultural festivities. The journey opens with a warm foot bath infused with wild sea salt, crushed kaffir lime, and mountain lemongrass, followed by deep rhythmic palm compressions that release persistent travel stiffness.
