Lonthoir Nutmeg Plantation Canopy Shala

Lonthoir has been harvesting nutmeg since the VOC first planted these volcanic slopes in the 1620s, and the Plantation Canopy Shala channels four centuries of spice-island ritual into a single, immersive morning practice. Participants recline on hand-woven rattan mats beneath a living roof of nutmeg branches heavy with split yellow fruit, guided through slow Pranayama breathwork by a local healer who learned the forest-bath practice from her grandmother's grandmother.

The resinous perfume of fresh-cracked nutmeg and dried mace lace each breath with an almost meditative quality — a natural aromatherapy with no parallel in any city spa. The session concludes with a single-origin Banda herbal tea ceremony and a slow, reflective walk along the plantation trail, where sunlight fractures through the canopy and the distant rumble of Gunung Api crosses the channel on the trade wind.
