Carved into the towering limestone cliffs of Sawangan, The Apurva Spa is a dramatic architectural tribute to the ancient Majapahit kingdom. Drawing inspiration from centuries-old Javanese healing philosophy and traditional Usada manuscripts, the spa structures its treatments around the four life stages: adolescent vitality, royal prime, restorative midlife, and serene elder wisdom. Sweeping hand-carved stone staircases, cascading water walls, and open-air sea-view treatment bales offer sweeping views over the azure Indian Ocean reef.
The signature Majapahit Imperial Healing journey commences with a bespoke consultation at the resident Jamu Bar, where freshly simmered roots of turmeric, ginger, and wild tamarind are blended into a curative tonic. Guests are then led to a private ocean-facing suite for a warm seawater floral foot immersion, followed by deep rhythmic bodywork with heated herbal compresses infused with cloves and nutmeg. An exfoliating scrub of fine sea pearls and golden turmeric prepares the skin for a mineral-rich marine mud cocoon, culminating in a warm ocean-vista bath scattered with fragrant frangipani.
