Badung builds infrastructure to overcome congestion in the Canggu area

Badung (National Archipelagic Wire) - The Badung Regency Government (Pemkab), Bali, continues to strive to overcome the problem of traffic jams, especially in tourism areas such as Canggu and Tibubeneng by building road infrastructure.

"This is done because traffic jams, especially in the Canggu and Tibubeneng areas, can hinder mobility, which can reduce tourist comfort and damage the competitiveness of destinations," said Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa in his statement in Mangupura, Monday.

He explained that as a real solution to overcoming congestion problems, the Badung Regency Government is currently boosting the development of alternative connectivity routes in the tourism area.

This route will connect the Canggu-Berawa-Banjar Umalas-Seminyak-Kedampang area to West Teuku Umar with a total length of around 4.7 kilometers.

According to him, this infrastructure will provide alternative routes, reduce traffic loads on main roads, and increase access to residential areas, public service centers, tourism destinations and economic growth centers.

"For the initial stage in 2026, we hope that this 4.7 kilometer section can be completed by the end of December. This infrastructure is expected to be able to distribute traffic flow optimally and break up the concentration of vehicles in Canggu and Tibubeneng," he said.

Regent Adi Arnawa revealed that the Badung Regency Government is also projecting the construction of a shortcut road from the West Gatot Subroto area of ​​Denpasar City in the 2027-2028 fiscal year as a long-term step.

"Don't let highly sought after destinations face saturation due to mobility problems. And the strength of Bali tourism is not only about facilities and natural beauty, but also the people's ability to maintain and develop their cultural identity," he said.
