Increase in ticket prices does not affect visits to DTW Ulun Danu Beratan

The policy of adjusting ticket prices to the Ulun Danu Beratan Tourist Destination Area (DTW), Baturiti District, Tabanan, which came into effect on July 1 2026, did not have a significant impact on the number of visits. During the recent school holidays, the level of visits remained stable, even increasing from normal days.

"The recent school holidays had a positive impact on tourist visits. During this period, the number of tourists who came experienced a significant increase compared to normal days," said Public Relations of DTW Ulun Danu Beratan, Agus Teja Saputra, when confirmed, Friday (17/6/2026).

Agus detailed the increase in DTW Ulun Danu Beratan tickets, namely for adult domestic tourists from IDR 40 thousand to IDR 50 thousand and domestic children from IDR 20 thousand to IDR 25 thousand. Meanwhile, the increase for adult foreign tourists is from IDR 75 thousand to IDR 100 thousand and for children from IDR 50 thousand to IDR 75 thousand.

The ticket increase policy, Agus explained, had been socialized several months earlier. As a result, enthusiastic visitors continue to overflow during the holiday season, especially domestic tourists.

"The average number of visits during school holidays reaches around 2,000 to 2,500 people per day. This figure has increased compared to before the holiday period which was only around 1,000 to 1,500 visitors per day," explained Agus Teja.

The composition of tourists who come is also relatively balanced, with the percentage of foreign tourists (wisman) and domestic tourists (wisdom) almost 50 versus 50. For domestic tourists, visitors from East Java and Yogyakarta dominate during the school holiday period.

Agus Teja said that the peak of domestic tourist visits generally occurs during the Eid holidays, the end of the year and school holidays, such as those that took place last June to July. "After this period ends, domestic tourist visits are expected to return to normal," he explained.

On the other hand, foreign tourist visits are predicted to peak in August to September. Until now, tourists from India are still the largest contributors to visits.

Apart from the momentum of school holidays, the holding of the Gebogan and Baleganjur Festivals is also considered successful in increasing tourist interest. The festival, which lasts for two months, from 21 June to 9 August 2026, presents a cultural experience that visitors can not only witness, but also participate in directly.

"One of the most popular activities is stringing gebogan. The management provides a special area for tourists to try stringing gebogan directly so they can get to know Balinese traditions and culture more closely," said Agus.
