Koster: Immigration services are an important factor in determining Bali's tourism image

Denpasar (National Archipelagic Wire) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster emphasized that the quality of immigration services is one of the important factors that determines Bali's tourism image in the eyes of the world as foreign tourist visits to the Island of the Gods increase.

"If we make a mistake in providing services, it will have a big impact on Bali tourism," said Koster while attending the Public Service Bazaar held by the Bali High Prosecutor's Office in Denpasar, Saturday.

According to Koster, public services are the main need of society so the government is required to be able to provide services that are fast, precise and adaptive to developments in the field.

He appreciated the Bali High Court's initiative to present various government services in one location as an effort to facilitate public access to public services.

Koster said the immigration sector has a strategic position because it is directly related to the comfort of foreign tourists and Bali's reputation as an international tourist destination.

With the number of foreign tourist visits continuing to increase and approaching seven million visits, according to him, the burden on immigration services in Bali is one of the highest in Indonesia.

Therefore, immigration matters are not only the responsibility of vertical agencies, but also require the synergy of all stakeholders in Bali.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office, Setiawan Budi Cahyono, said that the public service bazaar is a concrete form of government presence in providing services that are easily accessible, transparent and accountable to the public.

Activities taking place at the Baruna Disaster Shelter, Kuta Beach, provide various services, including population administration, police, immigration, free legal consultations, return of evidence and payment of ticket fines, health services, BPJS Health services, banking, and gold savings.

He hopes that similar activities can continue to be carried out in a sustainable manner and expanded to other areas in Bali so that more people can easily access government services.
