JAKARTA, Indonesia - October 1, 2026 - The commercial capital of Jakarta is finalizing preparations to host the third annual Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair (WITF) 2026, scheduled to take place at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran from October 15 to 17. Organized by the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASTINDO) with the strategic support of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), the three-day travel trade exhibition stands as Indonesia's premier marketplace for B2B contract negotiations and direct-to-consumer holiday sales ahead of the peak 2026/2027 year-end travel window.

With over 350 domestic and international exhibitors confirmed across three exhibition halls, WITF 2026 places an unprecedented structural focus on marketing travel routes outside Bali. The exhibition brings together luxury hotel groups, boutique regional dive operators, regional destination management boards, domestic airlines, and outbound international tour buyers representing key long-haul source markets across Europe, Australasia, East Asia, and the Middle East.

Economic forecasts released by the event steering committee anticipate transaction values exceeding Rp180 billion across the three days, reflecting robust international consumer demand for multi-destination Indonesian itineraries.

B2B trade exchange and regional tourism dispersal

The primary architecture of WITF 2026 is anchored around its high-velocity B2B buyer-meet-seller exchange:

During the first two dedicated business days, more than 200 hosted international buyers will conduct pre-scheduled appointments with regional Indonesian operators. The curated trade floor is intentionally organized around thematic archipelago corridors rather than standard administrative boundaries:

  • Ecotourism and Wildlife Pavilions: Showcasing ethical orangutan tracking in Tanjung Puting (Central Kalimantan), bird-of-paradise reserves in the Arfak Mountains of West Papua, and community-managed marine sanctuaries in Raja Ampat.
  • Cultural and Heritage Corridors: Highlighting royal palace gastronomy circuits in Central Java, Toraja vernacular funeral ceremonies in South Sulawesi, and megalithic stone villages in West Sumba.
  • Marine Sports and Yachting Charters: Connecting international dive wholesalers directly with licensed Phinisi yacht builders, Labuan Bajo liveaboards, and luxury surf charter fleets operating throughout the Mentawai and Banyuwangi coastlines.

"WITF is designed to bridge the visibility gap between remote regional eco-operators and global travel buyers," said Pauline Suharno, President of ASTINDO. "International travelers are actively looking for pristine destinations beyond the traditional tourist trail. By convening regional operators from Maluku, Papua, Kalimantan, and Sumatra directly in Jakarta, we empower small-scale, sustainable local enterprises to negotiate commercial contracts directly with the world's most prestigious travel brands."

Consumer promotions and festive year-end holiday packages

On its final public day (October 17), the exhibition opens its doors to domestic consumers and resident expatriates, offering heavily subsidized airfare bundles, promotional hotel packages, and holiday discounts co-funded by participating state-owned enterprises and commercial banks.

Key consumer incentives include:

  • Exclusive Domestic Airfare Rebates: Domestic carriers, including Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, and TransNusa, will offer route discounts of up to 25 percent on flights connecting Jakarta and Bali with secondary destinations such as Labuan Bajo, Lombok, Manado, and Belitung.
  • Luxury Staycation and Villa Incentives: Five-star hospitality groups in Bali, Lombok, and Yogyakarta will debut advance-purchase vouchers for the upcoming December festive holiday season, offering bundled airport transfers and spa credits.
  • Experiential Adventure Clinics: Live interactive stages will host travel clinics on responsible dive protocols, ethical trekking guidelines in national parks, and digital photography masterclasses led by acclaimed Indonesian landscape photographers.

Practical guidance for attendees and international trade delegates

Travelers and trade delegates attending WITF 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran should consider key logistics:

  1. Pre-Register for Fast-Track Access: Both trade delegates and consumer attendees are encouraged to complete digital pre-registration via the official WITF portal to receive fast-track QR badges and avoid registration queues at Hall A entry gates.
  2. Utilize Airport and City Shuttle Connections: Dedicated shuttle coaches will run continuous scheduled loops between Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK), central business district hotels in Sudirman-Thamrin, and the JIExpo Kemayoran fairgrounds.
  3. Prepare Digital Business Verification: B2B attendees should have their business credentials, agency licensing numbers, and corporate credentials uploaded to the event networking application to facilitate on-site appointment confirmations.

Looking toward 2027

The successful staging of WITF 2026 serves as an important barometer for the health of Indonesia's broader travel economy. By elevating regional visibility, fostering direct commercial linkages, and stimulating domestic mobility, the fair solidifies Jakarta's role as Southeast Asia's burgeoning nexus for high-value tourism commerce.
